To increase awareness, disseminate information, and garner support in order to facilitate the prevention, intervention and treatment of substance abuse in Moore County.

About Us:

Drug Free Moore County is a coalition composed of multiple sectors in the community including: youth, schools, parents, faith congregations, civic groups, the media, law enforcement, business, substance abuse agencies, and non-profit organizations dedicated to the prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and substance abuse.

DFMC was organized in Moore County in 1989. DFMC meets the second Tuesday of every month at the O’Neal School (8:15 AM).

The coalition sponsors annual activities such as: Red Ribbon Week in October, training and education services for youth groups, parents, congregations and civic organizations; resource materials and displays for fairs and events (resource center at 703 Pinehurst Avenue , Carthage ); consultation and presentations as requested.
